Recently sat through Tarzan (1999) and the British vibes reminded me of y'all discussing Zulu so I looked it up on streaming service. Pretty damn good, though i found it baffling the preacher was allowed to stir up so much crap before getting kicked out.

The real problem with this ep is that they had to make it as a pilot, so beats from Serenity get repeated, and not as well.

Wandavision was the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Are we watching the same scene? He's a shrill Muppet screaming at a bunch of brainwashed zombies! There is zero gravitas, just a unfunny parody of someone like Moff Tarkin or General Viet or any serious imperial villain.

OK, I admit it. I did not know Farscape had a peacekeeper wars miniseries. I was so pissed with that cliffhanger that I was done. I need to go check it out.

I was hooked from the very start watching this episode air on TV. Great characters, fun adventure, and turning the trope of the "guy constantly on the heroes' heels." The opening backstory/premise intro before every episode adequately filled in the overall story from the first pilot. It's a very Star Warsy "used universe" feel and interesting melding of cultures. The only criticism about the world building is the actual physicality of the universe. It was all played very loosely in the series, but the movie says it takes place all in one star system with hundreds of habitable moons. For a guy like Whedon who knows sound doesn't travel in the vacuum of space, him and the other writers don't seem to grasp other concepts of space and the universe. I guess also in Star Wars fashion, they really don't delve into the tech that makes the show possible. Probably a safe bet on their part.

We would have been spared so much crap in recent years, if someone just took one evening to read the script in front of everyone and expose the writer to some much well deserved public humiliation.

Congrats on one hundred years. Obviously drinker has been lying about being an alcoholic and Mauler being human, looking as young as they do, clearly drinker has been drinking formaldehyde and mauler is the living embodiment of the God Cthulhu.

I don’t understand why the executives who greenlit this film thought it would be fit for a theatrical release. The production expenses and economics of producing the film is irrelevant to the audience. To the audience this movie feels like a streaming movie, and that should have been obvious to the people who were producing it. It’s a rom-com action movie hybrid, and the action is great, and the characters’ chemistry is great, but as a halfway between genres, it doesn’t appeal to people who are paying $15+ for a ticket and $18+ for a bucket of popcorn. If you’re an action movie fan, the value isn’t there. If you’re a romcom enjoyer, the value isn’t there. I understand that the production economics aren’t suitable for straight to streaming, but for an audience member, the value isn’t there for a theatrical release. If the cost of seeing a movie at a theater was half of what it is, I think it would have had success.

Do you get paid to rate some movies more positively?

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are the worst of grifters. They NEVER put themselves on the line. I refer to the Muhammad episode in particular.
